Inventory Management Software for South African Small Businesses
A no-jargon guide to keeping accurate stock for spaza shops, tuck shops, cafés and small retailers — including liquids you sell by the cup and bulk products you repack into smaller units.
Why stock control matters for small businesses
Running out of your best sellers costs sales. Overstocking ties up cash. A simple stock system — priced in South African Rand and built for the way local shops actually trade — helps you know what you have, what you owe suppliers, and what you are really making.
Prepacked, liquid and self-packed products
South African small retailers often sell three types of stock at the same counter:
- Prepacked — items you buy and sell in the same unit (a tin, a packet).
- Liquids — bought in litres, sold in cups. StockFlow converts litres into cups and works out your cost per cup automatically.
- Self-packed — bulk stock like sugar or maize you buy in a big bag and repack into smaller sellable units.
Batches, expiry and FEFO
Groceries and cold drinks expire. StockFlow tracks stock in batches so you can sell the oldest stock first (First Expiry, First Out) and get alerts before anything reaches its expiry date — protecting both your customers and your margin.
